The Most Overlooked Grimm’s Treasure: Rainbow Frames

Usually the first $100 you spend on a Grimm’s product is for a 10 or 12 piece rainbow. The hardest decision is usually Traditional vs. Pastel vs. Monochrome. Then you spend a few weeks taking 45 pictures a day in your playroom. Adjusting the lighting so Wooden Toys Collaborative can admire your choice! But after the new rainbow magic wears off and you’re hungry for a next Grimm’s purchase, the choices can feel overwhelming.

Contrary to the belief of some of my internet “friends” who like to comment, I love Grimm’s and the toys they produce. So I’m here to direct your attention to an often overlooked treasure: The Grimm’s Rainbow Frames.

Here are some reasons you should make the Grimm’s Rainbow Frames your next purchase:

1. Here is some perspective on their size. These are the five sizes of blocks from the Grimm’s Large Stepped Pyramid. These frames are absolutely mammoth and that is not often conveyed in stock photos. I love that Grimm’s scales their 4cm collection together. They do that with their smaller 2cm collection, as well, but we’re not looking into that line for a longer time yet.

2. Perfect for flatlays, the Grimm’s frames are perfect for teachable moments, as well as just the right size for that perfect Instagram shot. Even better is that the colors are, typical for Grimm’s products, vibrant and true.

3. Speaking of colors, they are color matched perfectly to the rest of Grimm’s traditional rainbow toys. Here they are pictured with the traditional rainbow building boards and large balls. This is great when you begin to teach colors or engage in color matching activities.

4. They are a must for big block builders with little hands. I am a big proponent of the Gluckskafer slats, but they can be a bit unwieldy for littler ones.
