January/Winter Waldorf Nature Table

This has been a labor of love. Creating something…anything… after the fervor of the holidays has always felt very draining. As if we weren’t tapped out from making magic happen all of November and December, we’re supposed to start the new year off with fresh winter takes and dive into lesson plans and New Year’s resolutions. Frankly, it’s exhausting.

I decided early on, this one would incorporate some favorite elements from last year. You’ve seen this playsilk before. You’ve seen those Papoose trees. I did want to give an image of passing time, the old and the new, so I pulled in some Ostheimer to capture both the old man and young child that is prevalent in New Year imagery. The hourglass is here to illustrate the passage of time. Our little ice gnomes are there to complement with a callback to how the weather feels this time of year – bitterly ice cold. And of course, the weather set builds on the weather imagery, as well. I hope that I’ve incorporated enough new elements to give you a little inspiration for your winter Waldorf nature tables.
